Delete Your Payxem Account - Payxem
Last updated: 19 May 2026
You can request deletion of your Payxem account and the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains how to do it, what gets deleted, what we are required to keep, and how long it takes.
1. Who can request deletion
The account owner. We accept deletion requests from the verified email address on the account. If you no longer have access to that email, see Option B below.
2. How to delete your account
Option A: Inside the app (recommended)
- Open the Payxem app or visit app.payxem.com.
- Sign in with your registered email (magic link).
- Go to Profile in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Close my account.
- Confirm the closure.
Your account is immediately set to a closed state. A grace period of up to 30 days follows. During the grace period you can sign in and tap Reactivate Account to restore your data exactly as you left it. After the grace period, all personal data covered by section 4 is permanently purged.
Option B: By email (if you cannot sign in)
Send an email to [email protected] from the address registered on the account.
Subject: Delete my account
In the body, include:
- Your full name as registered
- The email address on the account
- A short statement: “I request the deletion of my Payxem account and personal data.”
We will verify your identity (we may ask you to confirm details that only the account owner would know, such as your user code or last invoice number) and start the deletion process within 7 business days.
3. Data we delete
Once deletion is processed (after the grace period for Option A, or after verification for Option B), the following personal data is permanently removed from our active systems:
- Name, email, phone number, address, date of birth
- Avatar image
- KYC documents (selfie and identity document images)
- Bank account details, crypto wallet addresses
- Push notification tokens and device identifiers
- All sessions and authentication tokens
- Profile content (business name, service description, public portfolio page)
- Notifications, support tickets, in-app preferences
4. Data we are required to retain
We are legally required to keep certain records, in line with financial-records and anti-fraud regulations. These records are anonymised where possible (linkage back to your personal identity is removed) and stored separately from active systems:
- Transaction records (invoice amounts, payment timestamps, processor reference IDs) for the retention period required by applicable law, typically 5 to 7 years
- Fraud-prevention and sanctions-screening logs (anonymised hashes only)
- Tax-related records where required by US, UAE, or other applicable jurisdictions
These records cannot be used to re-identify you and are not used for any other purpose.
5. How long it takes
| Path | Account closed | Personal data purged |
|---|---|---|
| Option A (in-app) | Immediately | After 30-day grace period |
| Option B (email) | Within 7 business days of verification | Within 30 days of closure |
6. After deletion
Once your personal data is purged:
- You cannot recover the account.
- The email address used on the account becomes available for new registrations after 90 days.
- Any pending wallet balance must be withdrawn before closure. If you close an account with a positive balance, we will contact you for payout instructions before purge.
7. Questions
Email [email protected]. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
